Discover Insight
From the viewpoint of a business owner, you may not see how discovering your true value has anything to do with running a successful business. Yet it has everything to do with running your business as well as your life. If you don't know your true worth, it could be why you may be feeling dissatisfied with some parts of your life. You're not allowing yourself the goodness you deserve. And if you're not doing business with a sense of your own true value-who you are, what skills you have, your own uniqueness, and what you bring to the table as a business owner-it could be why you're not as successful as you would like to be. You're probably uncomfortable promoting yourself, and you stay stuck in your comfort zone and do only what is easiest for you. So instead of turning away from looking inside yourself as a necessary part of business growth, consider embracing these concepts and watch what a difference it will make in you and those around you-as well as in your business and your life.

If you're one of those who has been harboring the fantasy of being an author, if you've been hiding your greatness in the closet, if you've put off moving ahead on realizing your dream of writing a book, now you have a chance to begin the journey. Do you really want to do this? Are you ready to say "yes" to being the author of your unique expression? Great! Then here are a few ways you can get started. Take small steps slowly and watch the momentum and excitement build.
- Brainstorm some titles for your book. Try some titles out on friends, family and associates. Talking about your book will bring the reality of it to life. Keep the title concise and clear and if you need to, include a descriptive sub-title. If it's a self-help book, make sure the title is catchy and the sub-title indicates the benefit for the reader.
- Design a mock cover for your book. You don't have to be a great artist, but this will really bring your book to life. Use your word processing program, clip art, fun colors and fonts. Print it out and hang it where you will see it every day.
- Write the book jacket or a book review for your book. This clarifies what your book is about and brags about its magnificence. You will be creating a summary and explaining the key concepts and benefits, as well as generating enthusiasm.
Discover- The First Step
I want you to write just one page book for yourself. Pick any title, type a page and then your book is done. See for yourself that you can do it, how the story, idea and or insight came alive.

Remember Hillary Clinton's book "It Takes a Village"? Well the story of my eBook production could be called "It Takes a Team." You want to know how I finally got my eBook and workbook out there? TEAM EFFORT! I assembled a fantastic team and assigned everyone their part. I looked for the best of the best in each area I determined I needed support. I asked for referrals and interviewed the prospective partners. For that is what the members of your team are-partners. No successful venture is ever accomplished by one person alone. We all have our strengths and limitations, and it is those limitations that get filled in by your partners. I may have great ideas but the inability to organize them. (That's me for sure!) I may know what I want to say, but not be able to express it clearly. (That's also me!) I may have an idea of what I want the book to look like but have no artistic skills. (Yep, you got me there too!)
You can gather any size team you want and develop any sort of arrangement that suits all of you, whether payment up front for services or a percentage of profits from product sales. You may want to have contracts in place or just and agreement by email or phone conversation. After you do one project with a team member, you'll know if they will become part of your ongoing team. Everyone's needs are different, so sort this information out for yourself. This is just a guideline to some of the partners you may wish to include in your book creation team:
- Writing coach
- Life or business coach
- Ghostwriter
- Copywriter
- Editor
- Book/cover designer
- Marketing/PR person
- Printer/publisher
- R&D team
Here are some of my team members:
Andrea Glass of www.WritersWay.com is an amazing editor and project manager who took my initial efforts of great ideas in a disorganized fashion and unearthed the gold. She has the unique gift to bring out the best of me, so I can convey my wisdom and still sound like my core authentic self. She kept me on track throughout the process and also used her marketing talents to craft a powerful sales page from which to launch the books. (www.DiscoverYourTrueValue.com)
Diane Carter of www.Sam101.com polished off the finished product by creating a dazzling book cover and interior for both products. Her creative skills and execution are a must-have for any product creation and she is a permanent member of my team for all future products.
Pete's Perspective
I have definitely had 7 weeks of hell added to my schedule. Just before Thanksgiving I got a chest cold and cough. Being a guy I didn't go to the doctor until three weeks later. He gave me the medicine and antibiotics and I took it easy and rested. I had a relapse about two weeks later. My trainer told me that many of his clients also got the creeping crud and had a hard time getting over it. I had two more doctor's visit with a certain amount of success but it never had completely gone away. If I exercised at all I had terrible fits of coughing. In a mastermind call Stacey turned me on to an herbalist that had exactly whet I needed she told me. So I went to the herbdoc.com, got the warning page, agreed to the disclaimer and ordered the flu and cold formula with the lung tonic as well. The stuff tastes herbal (off) but boy doest it work. The doctor talks about how antibiotics are not even effective for this type of flu. My concern is if we ever have a bird flu epidemic was I prepared and my family. Well I have a supply and would suggest you look into this for yourself (I don't get any money for mentioning this) as the bug is hard to get rid of. I will update you more on what's happening on my evolving world next time.
Hugs, Pete
