Focus Quote
The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what ever you will, and the solution comes to you and you don't know how or why.
- Albert Einstein
Focus Exercise
Do you really know when your intuition has kicked in and you are using it to its full potential? Take your biggest challenge in your life right now, find a quiet place and close your eyes, place one hand on your heart and the other below your belly button, be quiet with yourself and ask for the answer. It may take a few times or the answer is not what you want to hear or feel but get crystal clear about what your intuition is saying. If you decide to put this exercise into practice everyday you will find that the answers to your problems, challenges or opportunities will quickly fall into place. You will be doing things, taking actions and getting results that are perfect for you.
Pete's Perspective
The universe has had a lot of humor and irony at my expense in the last six months. I had a person come into my life that has amazing insights into her clients. We coached around my path in life which to say in the least has been going places, meeting people and learning things I never would have imagined in my previous career. Colette pointed out that I was living between Overload to Overwhelm trying to figure out my calling, destiny and career direction. Then I shared with her that I was writing a book about it "Information Age Overload to Overwhelm" which made her laugh and point out that the universe has this humor.
Well they say there are only two things you can do on the golf course and life, laugh or cry (get mad) so laughing is the better of the two. So I'm laughing at or with the universe as well. What next I ask?
It has become clear to me that the Information Age has created a lot for all of us but the cost on us as a nation and world maybe too big a price to pay. When I see a explosion of obesity in both adults and adolescents, epidemic in depression of adults and teenagers, increased use of drugs legal and illegal, decrease in length and quality of sleep and a decrease of people getting away on vacations and having peaceful time to rejuvenate, it makes me wonder where we are going? A flavor of the book I'm working on.
A week ago my brother Tom had one of his key managers; Mark who had a son who was two plus years old suddenly die to complications with a tooth infection. Not only that but Mark and his wife had a new three week old baby that had to have open heart surgery when he was born. Sitting in the church at the funeral with my wife, Tom and his wife, our parents and all of his employees from Tom's company, the world got a whole lot simpler on what was important and what we should focus on. Intuitively I watched mothers and fathers take that extra time to hold their kids, gaze over at them and count their blessings.
Yesterday, 16 years ago my former wife and I had a 7 week old premature son Scotty who also passed away 7 weeks later. During that time it was real easy to laser in what was most important to me. What I have found out is that in order to clear out the overwhelm is to plug into my own intuition to help clear a path through the forest for myself. In any great tragedy it is amazing the resources, family, friends and spiritual presence that came into my own life. As I write the book it is so ever clearer that in order to beat back the overload or overwhelm, it is so important to exploring what makes up my magnificence, my gifts and my way of serving my audiences. The book has been like giving birth, a long time in development, getting big in size and wanting it to show up. I'm ready now for the C section, stay tuned.
