If love makes the world go round then appreciation is the lubricant that spreads love out the fastest

Focus Coaching Insight
Time and time again I am reminded that Appreciation is a cornerstone for getting everything we want when we just share what is right in front of our eyes. In a recent seminar I took with Jack Canfield in his Breakthrough to Success he showed us a slide from the Gallop Polling Organization that had "Appreciation as the number 1 response from employee's surveyed to having job satisfaction. This same answer comes up every time Gallop conducts this poll.

As you read this e-zine can you think of anyone nearby or in your day today that you could immediately give some of your appreciation from your deep loving heart? People feel disconnected from each other and reconnecting in just a simple and quick way to say THANKS, I appreciate that one quality you have shown me and it is valuable.
If you really want to stretch yourself:
Guys- get a single rose or a small bouquet of flowers and give them to a love in your life with a hug and kiss. How important to your success is that other person in your life.
Ladies- If your love in your life does something even if it's a little chore then recognize that person with heart felt appreciation. Your man is preprogrammed to moving mountains for that appreciation from you. You really want to blow the socks off of him bring him some flowers and see what happens.
I had the experience of getting a dozen red roses at work one time and the ladies at work were amazed and the men kidded me until I asked them if they ever got any flowers at work? All of a sudden they got it, something special was going on and it felt Great. Sending flowers to your lady at work is also a way to score big appreciation points as the other ladies wish their spouses could be that thoughtful and appreciative.
You know it doesn't take much to get the natural law of appreciation going, so jump on it.
Pete's Perspective
It's just something about summer that pulls us in different directions and then all of a sudden Labor Day comes and it's time to refocus and push to the next stretch of time till the holidays. It still amazes me that after the Fourth of July the Christmas stuff starts showing up on the stores shelves.
Anyway...As I mentioned earlier I had the opportunity to be with Jack Canfield of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book fame. He and Mark Victor Hansen have over 50 books on a variety of subjects for all kinds of Souls. What struck me most about Jack when I first met him at the Coachville conference in New Orleans in May was how down to earth he was. He also has dedicated himself to helping people breakthrough to their own desired successes no matter how big or little the want is. In his Las Vegas week long Breakthrough to Success seminar he shared with us that two out of ever three people have some form of lower self esteem. He has found this to be true through out his travels. Couple that with the fact that a lot of people can't ask for what they truly want out o their lives, their work, their relationships, their spirituality and most of all from themselves you see why many people get stuck in their lives. In a great book I just read, Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsh the book talks about people who turn 40 to 60 years old giving up on their dreams. Sitting in the middle at 50 amongst a lot of people in this age bracket I see this clearly as a huge challenge for people.
Earlier I asked you to give some appreciation to someone else. What I found with a new client recently is to take some time and write out the appreciation for yourself in the last 5 years. First of all you lived to tell about it, which means you survived. What can you write down as true appreciations of yourself and the things you did and accomplished? Forget the you didn't do and didn't go right but focus on your own success. Once I did that for myself I could clearly see that I appreciated myself for surviving, thriving, growing, going down different roads that I never expected going places I never imagined and getting through it all. I had the pleasure of seeing Rudy Ruettiger of the movie Rudy, the Notre Dame player who fought all odds to get on the team and then play for only 27 seconds of the last game of his career at ND. He had great stories and a great narration clip of the movie. What struck me most is what he said about all the stuff that goes on in our heads. The negative self talk, the low self esteem, the giving up on dreams, the I'm too old what he so wisely put as the "GOOFY THOUGHTS". As he was telling the story of visiting the president of the United States with a number of luminaries the question his conservative dad asked him, Does she really run the White house came into the forefront of his every thought as he sat next to the President screening his movie. He said he told himself to stop with the goofy thoughts. I leave you with stop with the GOOFY THOUGHTS and tune into your own personal power and divine gifts and go after your dreams. Isn't it time to appreciate that you ready to go after it all, Hugs from the front line of breaking through your own success, Pete the Big bear Coach
